Poston Leads with Masters Star Ludvig Åberg in Hunt After Round 1
The 2024 RBC Heritage golf tournament is underway at Hilton Head Island, and J.T. Poston has emerged as the early leader after the first round.
Poston, who won the Wells Fargo Championship last month, shot a 6-under 65 to take a one-stroke lead over Masters star Ludvig Åberg. Åberg, who finished tied for 12th at Augusta National, is looking to make a statement this week in South Carolina.
Scottie Scheffler, the reigning Masters champion, is also in the mix but sitting six shots back after the first 18 holes. Scheffler shot a 1-under 69 and is tied for 10th place.
Other notable players in contention include Cameron Smith, Rory McIlroy, and Jon Rahm. Smith is tied for third at 4-under par, while McIlroy and Rahm are tied for fifth at 3-under par.
The second round of the RBC Heritage will be played on Friday, April 12. Poston will be looking to maintain his lead and build on his momentum heading into the weekend.
